"There aren’t any squats in Jerusalem. We weren’t aware of any squats in Jerusalem and certainly nothing like the active squats you see overseas as an integral part of the community; We had no reason to believe one would be started here either. On the last night of the prolonged protest, a group of us was sitting on the roof of an abandoned building on King George 47 st., (which will be later be more commonly known as “The Pig”), overlooking Paris square, filled to the brim with demonstrators and protestors and we were debating what was then probably a very common topic – Where should we take our protest from here?" |
